Contact Columns

  1. 2 years ago

First of all I want to thank you for reviving do-Organizer!
The impressive list of features is growing and growing!
And it's much more stable, so I bought a license last week.

I want to report a bug:
Imported my contacts and that went very well.
Use list view without any (sub)folders.
I added some columns and reordered them by dragging with the mouse
doogiePIM remembers this until I close the database.
After reopening the database I open the contacts module and 4 columns are always placed back at the end of the list.
Not all of them, but only these 4 columns:
    Birthday (This Year)
    Birthday Due
    Age Today
    Spouse

    Can you confirm this?

Thanks in advance for your support and have a nice day

You can be sure I'll look into this. I suspect there's a settings saving glitch somewhere.

Many thanks for your kind comments and your support. I hope you'll enjoy the doogiePIM - Personal Information Hero -
    for many years.

  3. Thank you Chris.

I hope you don't mind that I add another setting that is not saved between sessions.
I docked the adress bar at the bottom, but after a restart of doogiePIM the bar is again on top of the screen.

I don't mind at all. The more bugs get reported the faster I can fix them, making everyone happy :)

The docking bug was fixed today so I'll upload a nightly build tomorrow evening. (version 1.1.1.2)

  5. Version 1.1.1.2 docking of the adress bar. Tested and solved. Thank you Chris

  6. The Contacts column issue is not solved with version 1.1.1.2

  7. Thanks for the update to version 1.1.1.4.
I am sorry, but the column issue is not fixed with this release.

Hmm. Would it be possible to send me your settings file by email please.

You'll find the file in the application folder, eg: C:\BiteSpire\doogiePIM\doogiePIMSettings.ini

  9. I have send you the file

Please confirm if the Contact's Column persistence bug is fixed or not in version 1.1.1.5.
I've testing this latest version using a database structure and the settings you supplied and can confirm that the bug didn't raise its ugly head.

If you're still experiencing a problem, please outline the steps in exactly how I can replicate the problem. Possibly with screenshots, but please blur any private information.

I appreciate your help to get this matter resolved.

  12. Hello Chris, thanks for the update.
    The bug is still there.
I can send you some screenshots, but I don't know if it helps.

For instance: I can have the columns Home City, Home Postal Code and Telephone number. That info is saved. But when I place City between postal code and telephone number after reopening doogiePIM City is placed after telephone number. Can you still follow me :)
Also the columns: Spouse, Birthday this year, Age today and Birthday due are always placed back at the end of the line. But for instance when I place Spouse as second column it is saved but some other columns are no longer sorted the way they where before.
In other words: There are so many options and the behaviour of doogiePIM is unpredictable and is different every time I try something out.

    Forgive my English please ;)

I've been working on this mystery all morning and have, hopefully, made some progress. After rewriting the code for the column routines, the tests look positive.

I would be grateful if you could try this new version 1.1.1.6 build and let me know if it solves your situation too. The new build can be downloaded here:

    https://bitespire.com/testbuilds/doogiePIM.exe

Please note: This is only the main exe which means you need to copy this and overwrite the doogiePIM.exe in your existing doogiePIM folder. There's no other installation or unpacking, just a file copy.

PS. Your English is awesome. ;)

    Thank you Chris.

At startup of version 1.1.1.6 there where only 3 coulumns in the Contacts Section. I defined the columns I want to use and reordered them the way I like best.
There are now 3 columns that seem to change in the order of the columns:
Web Page, Email Address and Primary Telephone Number.
When I put these 3 columns at first and then the other columns, doogiePIM remembers the order of the columns. This is not the case when I put these 3 columns somewhere else. The other columns stay in place.
    Hope this info helps.
    Thanks for all your support.

    Peter

  15. Solved in version 1.1.1.7
    Thank you Chris!
