Importing tasks

    Hello Chris,

Today I filled the Task Section using a .csv file. Everything went fine.
The Home page is setup to show all open tasks that are due within this week, but I don't see them.
The Calendar is setup to show all open tasks, but I don't see them.

I added a task (using the menu) with a due date: today.
This task is visible in the calendar, but not on the home page.

The settings of my homepage are OK, I think. Can I reset them to the default settings, to see if everything works fine then?
Anyway, this must also be a bug and I wanted to report this.

    Have a nice day.

Would it be possible to post or send me some screenshots of your home page customization settings. This will help in supplying an answer for you.

PS: The address bar bug fix version was uploaded earlier today.

The new task that I entered (not imported) is now visible on the calendar AND the homepage.
Settings of the homepage are now correct.
So the problem concerns only the imported tasks wich are not visible in the calendar and on the homepage.

Regarding the homepage settings I found out that on the Tasks tab, Date range, the Due Date and the Start Date are always reset to Today (after a restart of doogiePIM).
But when you change these settings and first click on Apply and then OK, they are saved.
When you only click OK, they are not saved.

Usually these kind of settings only reset when the database is opened and closed. A normal procedure would be to run doogiePIM and have it load the last database you had open based on the Startup settings in [Settings and Preferences].

    1. Are you leaving your database open when you shutdown doogiePIM? Or are you always closing it manually before shutting down doogiePIM?
    2. What kind of storage media are you using? (USB stick, SSD, SCSI, built-in hard disk, etc)

I'm still scratching my head on this one... but I like a challenge ;)

    1. doogiePIM is running all the time and I close the database when no longer needed (privacy). So when I close doogiePIM at the end of the day, mostly the database is already closed. I will try it your way, but then I have to startup doogiePIM more often during the day.
    2. I have setup the portable version on a separate data partition of the built-in hard disk.

Update: I did some testing and the tasks that I imported become visible in the calendar and on the homepage when I edit the task and fill the Resource field

Ah! that would change things. All Tasks must have a Resource. I'll concentrate on improving the Import of Tasks.

If it helps, you can select more than one task in the Task listing using Shift+Click then change all the selected task's Resources in bulk.
From the Task toolbar or the right-click context menu, Choose [Mark Selected Task as...],
Then choose [Change Owning Resource], select the appropriate Resource from the list.

There is still a problem with the settings not saving correctly when you open/close a database mid-session. I've identified the problem cause and is in mid fix at the moment. :)

I think you'll find the Home section settings should be a lot better at remembering things. I've injected doogiePIM with "Elephant Memory" in Version 1.1.1.3.

    :)
Thanks for the bug fixes so far and the new features in Version 1.1.1.3. Great additions!
