    Hi Chris,
I have a suggestion because this is very annoying, I hope I can explain it correctly so you understand my problem :)

I am editing a document that contains a list of approx. 50 files and their explanation (no table)
When I edit a line in the middle of the screen (to add one or more tabs between the columns) the line immediately shifts to the bottom of the screen. I would very much like to see that the line stays in place, in my case at the center of the screen.

    Kind regards,
    Peter

Hmm... I'm not sure what you mean.

It sounds like you wish to edit the indents. This is possible using custom indentation to wrap around at certain tabulations. Perhaps setting a hanging indent may be what you need.

  3. Hi Chris,
I copied a list from a website and this list contains file names and and explanation.
Pasted the list in a new document in the documents section.
Not all lines are visible on the screen.
There are lines that don't have enough tabs between the file name and the explation.
When you scroll down until the last line is visible on the screen and then edit a line in the middle of the screen (insert a tab between the filename and the description) , immediately the screen scrolls so that the line that I was editing is now at the bottom of the screen. In any other editor this line would stay in place (middle of the screen) so I can still see the remaining lines.

I could send you a document to test this if you want.

When you paste from the website, try using right-click then "Paste as...." then choose "Unicode Text". That way, you'll get just text and no hidden special HTML format.

I would welcome the text file. Please send it to: My email address .

I send you a file to test this :)
Thanks for the hint to use Paste as
When you test this yourself you know what I mean and see that this is a bug.

Ah! I see the problem now. It looks like no matter where you insert a tab, the editor tries to reformat so the cursor is on the last visual line.

Time to get my hammer out and bash this bug.
