I would like to have a hotkey to navigate to a certain date and make an entry in the Journal section or view/edit what I wrote that day.
The only button available now is the Go To Today button.

Importing .RTF files in the Journal section would be another great addition.
When I have a file named "1999-05-02.rtf" and I can import it in the Journal section and it is automatically linked to the date of the filename.

Hope that you will consider implementing this in the future.
    Have a nice day :)

Hi and many thanks (again) for some wonderful ideas.

I'll see what I can do to make navigating to Journals dates easier with more shortcuts.

    I can see that when importing a RTF file, doogiePIM would have to ask the date of the file;

    1. Date embedded in filename (like yours), or
    2. Date file was created, or
    3. Date file was modified, or
    4. Custom, choose a date from popup or use selected Journal date, or,
    5. Use Today.

Then doogiePIM can link it to the date correctly.

I'll work on it after the next release.

How would I navigate to Mar 2007?
Would I have to click the left scroll arrow 120 times or
    is there an easier way?

    Thanks.

To go to another month and year:

    1. Position your mouse arrow cursor on the month name and year on the calendar display.
    2. Left-click and hold down the mouse button.
    3. Move your mouse up/forward or down/backwards to scroll the month display.

You find the display will scroll faster the more distance you drag. On my test, I could get to January 2007 in approx 5 seconds. Much faster than hitting the scroll arrow 120 times.

There will be a "Go to date" command in a future version. In case you wanted dates back further, eg: 1891. Development is ongoing.

Did you know: When using the calendar scroll arrows, left click and hold down the button. The arrow command will repeat so you don't have to keep clicking.

  5. Thank you for the information. That helped.

The reason I have to go back to Mar 2007 is because I cannot
view the entries until I move the calendar at the top back to
    that month.

Is there a work around that I don't know about?

The first image is the Journal on the August 2017 calendar.
No entries are available for viewing on Mar 2007.
The second image is the Journal on the March 2007 calendar.
The entries are available for viewing.

    Thanks.

Above August 2017 you can find a Filter menu.
Click it and you can select Show all journals

  7. That is exactly what I needed.

    Thank you very, very much.

This has been fixed in the upcoming update v2.0.0.8. This should be available later this week. Many thanks again for letting me know of the glitch. The problem was due to the Date Toolbar not being visible to the user *facepalms*
