Home Page Questions

Some questions on the home page:

    1. Appearance: Is it possible to change the color of the Home Page Header?
    2. Appearance: Is it possible to adjust text color in various Data Panels?
    3. Refresh: Does the Home Page refresh on a specified interval (ie when pop3 email is checked)?

    1. Not yet. The tint of the header colour is calculated from the overall chosen theme colour.
    2. Not yet.
    3. The Home section will automatically refresh after checking and receiving Messages, after changing certain data in Tasks, Calendar, Contacts, Finance, etc. The refresh will also trigger at midnight when it moves onto the next day.
  3. Do we have an option for controlling the size of the font in the panels on the Home Page?

A slightly smaller font would allow me to display more data in one screen view. However, I understand that some might prefer a larger display, so user control of the font size would be ideal.

    Thanks,
    Metta

  4. In addition to Metta's request for selectable font sizes, could the columns also auto-wrap.
For example, I only want 2 columns. 1 for upcoming events, and the other for tasks. However, I can fit 4 columns on my screen, so could the events fill column 1, then wrap onto column 2, so now I have 2 columns of events, and 2 for tasks?

    Thanks

I see in an earlier reply (9 Aug 2017) that you say the Home Page refreshes at midnight - but mine doesn't! For example, today, Sunday 3 March, I sat at my computer and the home page was still showing 'No Events Due - Today - Saturday 02 March, 2019'. I clicked on 'Refresh' but it remained showing Saturday. Even the calendar shows Saturday! It appears that the only way (and I accept, there may be others) that I could get it to 'move' to Sunday was by shutting down and restarting Doogie. So, my question is - why isn't midnight triggering a change as you suggest? I'm in Perth, Western Australia and have time set to local time (UTC +8). Could midnight mean UTC midnight or "my" midnight (I trust the latter)? Any comments welcome, as this is mildly irritating!

@mikeinnc I see in an earlier reply (9 Aug 2017) that you say the Home Page refreshes at midnight

I'm still looking into this issue. The Home Page should refresh at midnight under normal circumstances. If you hit Refresh manually, it will always take your local time. I'm not sure why this isn't working for you, but as I said, I have an Australian test machine running to test this on.

Thanks for the report and I hope I have good news for you soon.

  7. Thanks Chris! Just to confirm it's not an anomaly - I didn't use my computer yesterday (Monday), and this morning, on logging in, it was still showing Sunday... It's easy enough to shut down and restart, and all is well - but I'll look forward to some good news!! Thanks again.

  8. Hi Chris - any movement on this? I've just sat at my computer and it is now Tuesday 02 Apr (morning). Home page is still showing 'Today: Monday 1 April 2019'. Clicking on 'Refresh' in the tool bar successfully changes the 'Quote of the day' at each click, but the date stays stubbornly set on 1 April. OK, as before shutting down and restarting will set the correct date - but should that be necessary? Thanks!

You'll be pleased to hear this issue is fixed in the current development version and is included in the next update. I'm not able to say when this is to be released but I do believe it is soon.

For your information: You are able to click on the dates on the small calendar to the left. Therefore, instead of hitting Refresh, simply click on 2 April. In the next update, this is automated.

Many thanks for reporting this issue and if there are any further problems, please let us know.
