Today, Microsoft begins shipping out its mandatory update to Windows 10 users.
Are you one of the users?
    Do you have it yet?
Do you use a different Windows OS version? if so, then why?

I'd be really interested to read your comments.

The update is quite smooth. Got mine yesterday on my main machine. It took about one hour to install. It's basically like installing the complete Windows OS.

You'll probably have to go through all your Privacy settings again.

The main difference is Cortana.... that thing is now permanent. Oh, well. Time to figure out some registry hacks to get rid of it.

Interesting. I had already had my Cortana disabled and only had a "Search Windows" in my lower systray. After the upgrade, Cortana was still disabled. I'm wondering if the upgrade is buggy and causes different behaviors on different computers?

  5. I work as a system administrator at a large company. A lot of computers goes through my hands. Updates to Windows 10 started a long time with us. There have been cases of complete collapse with the loss of the hard disk partition recovery. But mostly updates are successful. Although the window 10 more slow if the computer is not very powerful, and we often do rollback back to Windows 7. Now turn off and disable the update service updates. We keep this state as long as possible, but we know that sooner or later will have to migrate to Windows 10 if this will be our partners or other reasons for which Windows 7 will no longer be used.
At home, I keep 2 powerful laptop on windows 10, one on Linux and one back from Linux to Windows 7 for your favorite doogiePIM, which is not friendly to Linux.
At work, too, replaced by Linux on Windows 8 + Start8 from Stardok only for doogiePIM.
Windows 8 + Start8 seems to me better than Windows 10, it runs faster and is deprived of some of the more recent and ridiculous attempts of Microsoft to sit on two chairs - to make an interface for desktop and touchscreen simultaneously.
