Browser URL Default Scheme

I have been using DoogiePIM for about two months. The browser displays a page of results prepared by DuckDuckGo no matter what URL I enter in the browser's address field. It never goes to the URL requested but DuckDuckGo usually lists the requested URL first. I have not found any setting that will prevent the redirection to the search engine. Do other users experience this? What is the solution to avoid the redirection?

The "URL input bar" is actually a multi-purpose tool. You can enter text to search for or enter a complete URL. To go directly to a site, enter the URL as such "http://bitespire.com". Placing a "http://" before the URL will make doogiePIM force it to be a direct URL.

You will find that is also searches for any bookmarks matching text and will bring up a small window. Press CursorDown to navigate the list or click the relevant entry with your mouse.

Quick Tip: Pressing CursorDown when your cursor is in the URL input box will display all your bookmarks below the bar for your to navigate using your keyboard.

Yes, I can agree this needs improving. I've added this request to the development schedule so that if the URL looks something like "domainname.com" doogiePIM will assume "http://domainname.com".

On a different issue, you don't have to use DuckDuckGo, you can customise and choose other search engines. Look in the Settings & Preferences/Web Browser to set your default Search Engine.

I hope this help and many thanks for the wonderful feedback.

This is actually implemented now from version 1.0.4.2

    Many thanks for the suggestion
