When I first started using Version 3 I couldnt find the Compose Email icon. At first I went to top left corner, & chose New>Compose Email. I can do this whatever section I am in. Not just messages. Now I have learnt I can right-click on the main toolbar and choose the second item down - Customise Toolbar and tick Compose Email. This puts the icon on the tool bar for me to click when I need it.
I have a number of text style files I made in version two which I use all the time in my documents. I remembered today to copy them across from my DoogiePIM2 folder to my DoogiePIM3 folder. They have a .rvst extension and they live in Data Files folder. There are other preferences files I might need but I am using the opportunity to start things, like the whitelist and blacklist, from fresh but will copy across if I change my mind.
I backed up my version 2 database for the last time. I set up version 3 in a new separate version 3 folder and I copied my version 2 database across (its the .doo file). So everything in the version 2 folder is as it was when I left it. In case I ever need to go back. Belt and braces!
I tried to do an image capture in Bookmarks as in Version 2 and couldn't find it. Doogie's creator said that this is now built in to Microsoft so you dont need a separate version in Doogie. You can just paste from the clipboard after using the Window-SHIFT-S command to capture. In bookmarks where the capture button used to be there is a paste from clipboard command.
I asked Doogie's creator what happened to the icons in Doogie 3. He told me that Doogie's icons are getting an overhaul. They are going vector from bitmap. This means they can be bright and sharp at any scale; whether you have a huge 4K monitor or a tiny laptop screen. This takes a long time changing every one. The Doogie maetros are working on it and by the time I post this all the squares may have been updated to their new icons. So worth getting the next update as soon as it comes out. In the meantime, if you hover over the icon it should tell you what it is. And they are by and large where they were before. The main maetro also says all the commands are in the drop down menus if you cant find them as icons.
Cant wait till its done; particularly the Delete items folder so I can pull back my accidental deletes.
